A1 - Basic User (Beginner)
The A1 level of the French language test is the beginner level and is designed for individuals who have little or no knowledge of the French language. At the end of the A1 level, the test-taker should be able to understand and use basic phrases and expressions related to familiar topics and be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks. However, the level of proficiency is limited and does not allow for a deeper understanding of the language or more complex communication.
Vocabulary
At the A1 level, the vocabulary is limited and focuses on everyday words and phrases. The test-taker should be able to understand and use basic vocabulary related to personal details, family, work, daily routine, shopping, travel, and the environment. The vocabulary also includes common verbs, adjectives, and prepositions used in simple sentences.
Grammar
The grammar at the A1 level is also limited and focuses on the essential structures of the language, including basic verb conjugation, the use of articles, pronouns, adjectives, and simple tenses such as the present and past tense. The test-taker should be able to form simple sentences and questions, and understand basic grammatical structures.
Speaking
The speaking exercises at the A1 level focus on basic communication skills and involve simple conversations about everyday topics. The test-taker should be able to introduce themselves, ask and answer basic questions, and talk about simple topics using basic vocabulary and grammar. Listening
